| The Los Angeles County Museum of Art's contemporary art curator, Howard Fox, selected Salamanca for a juried show entitled New Media Expo in downtown Los Angeles in August. | My newest work, the Salamanca Series, will be shown at the Third Annual Culver City Artwalk. This free, self-guided tour of local art galleries and exhibitiion spaces is sponsored by Sony Pictures Entertainment and KCRW, with participation from the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (MOCA). The series name, Salamanca, derives from a street of mysterious, convict built sandstone warehouses on the Derwent River in Hobart, Tasmania that I used to sneak into when I was quite a bit younger. | SFMOMA Director chooses Avoca for major exhibition | ||||
| Campbell's newest series, Avoca, has been selected by the SFMOMA director, Neal Benezra, as part of an international exhibition called The Art of Digital. Because his artwork is a combination of hand drawn and digital, the artwork was a perfect choice for this show featuring all forms of cutting edge digital art. | In keeping with our philosophy of creating the highest quality product, with outstanding design, yet reasonably priced, Campbell allowed Modu No. 6 to be produced as a rug, made of luxurious 100% wool. Available in a variety of sizes, the rug has been renamed Rondo and can be purchased online from Chiasso or through Boom Design in Culver City, which also features Campbell's paper and canvas artworks. | Venice Art Walk | ||||
| Venice is known as an eclectic home for artists, surfers and movie stars and the Venice Art Fair attracts all of them. What started as a small art auction twenty eight years ago has grown to a national event bringing thousands of art collectors to this small ocean town for a weekend in May. And it's all for a good cause as the proceeds fund the Venice Family Clinic. This year Campbell has arranged to show a number of pieces at Loja Designs on Abbot Kinney Blvd. View images [>] | ||||

| Ikea | ||||
| Ikea, the well known affordable modern furniture chain from Sweden, has acquired an exclusive image from Campbell called ZoZo #7, named for his daughter, Zoe. The chain currently has 254 stores in 35 countries around the globe, and their website received over 400 million visitors in 2006. So it's no surprise that this artwork has already sold out of its first printing, and is flying out of the warehouses around the globe. Look for it in your local IKEA today. View images [>] | ||||

| For the juried Small Wonders show at Pharmaka Gallery, Campbell's work was chosen by Tyler Stallings, curator for the Laguna Art Museum, to support this artists' run non-profit exhibition space in downtown LA. Caravan, NYC's Newest Design Store | |||
| A new store at 2 Great Jones St., in Manhattan, called Caravan, featured 2 of Campbell's Vencka Series in large format canvases for their store opening during ICFF in May. They had a huge turnout as you can see from the photos and the images were placed high for an impressive presentation. It's a great place to see Campbell's works on the east coast. | ||||

| Art + Industry is a new design store in Palm Springs that presented a solo show of Campbell's latest works in a well attended opening over Memorial Day Weekend. Featured were the Purer images which seem to be the new favorites of our collectors. | The NY Times No. 1 Best Seller by Lauren Weisberger, is being made into a movie starring Meryl Streep and Adrian Grenier of "Entourage" fame. Decorating the wall of the one of the main sets, a Lower East Side apartment, will be the Campbell Laird framed print of Fracture No. 1. Look for it soon! | ||||

Richard Neutra's Gettysburg Cyclorama | |||
| Richard Neutra, one of the most famous mid-century modern American architects, designed a cyclorama at Gettysburg, Pa. in 1961 to commemorate the famed Civil War battle. However, this premiere monument was slated for demolition by the National Park Service until the Recent Past Preservation Network took up the cause to save it. In order to help fund the restoration, they requested a Campbell Laird signed print for their auction which was held in coordination with Design Within Reach on Nov. 4, 2005. Many thousands of dollars were raised to help fund the restoration. View images [>] |

Boom Design | |||
| Founded in 1994, Boom is a progressive store that designs and manufactures modern home décor and furnishings. It is located in the historic Helms Bakery District, in LA . Andy Ng, partner of Boom asked Campbell Laird to create a new line called Bruso, a series of framed prints available in smaller sizes. Also displayed are a series of canvases in the Modu Series, and two diasec plexi images. | ||||

Dwell Home I | |||
| Dwell Magazine is the coolest shelter magazine around, and they resurrected the idea of Case Study Houses, from John Entenza's Art and Architecture Magazine published in the '50's. They sponsored an architectural competition to build an environmentally friendly, pre-fab, low cost home, and Resolution 4 Architecture was chosen to build it near Raleigh, NC. The Dwell Home I was completed in July, 2004. The Campbell Laird Studio was chosen as the Art Sponsor, and we donated Kinesia, No 11. View Images [>] |

| A one of a kind store in Tribeca, right across the street from our studio in NYC. We kept walking past it thinking the art would work perfectly with their unique and outstanding pieces, and when we met with Stephen Mitchell, the manager, he agreed.
