Campbell Laird Studio Information

Australian artist Campbell Laird has now made his award winning designs available to the public for the first time ever. Long sought after by major corporations in the U.S. and abroad, Laird has been commissioned to produce images for Macys, Quest Communications, Adobe, Continental Airlines, American Express, not to mention Time Magazine, Wall St. Journal and Newsweek, among others. Now his personal works can be purchased directly from his studio and are signed, numbered and delivered with a certificate of authority.

Pieces can be produced up to 40" x 90" on canvas or watercolor paper or plexi ( max 40" x 50"), we work with the finest printers in New York City and California to create the pieces and ensure that they are produced to his exact specifications.

Bio
Born and raised in Hobart, Tasmania, Laird has spent the majority of his life (so far) as a professional musician travelling extensively through Europe, US and Australia. Owing to extreme tiredness and a distaste for malodorous hotel rooms, Laird retired from the high life and settled in New York City where he now creates award winning imagery for editorial, corporate and advertising clients throughout the world.

Artist Statement
My work explores the structural relationships between line, shape and color. A blank sheet of paper is always the genesis, with each new element suggesting the next; in this way, an image is slowly developed over time into something complete and unique. Although the works are finally created in the computer, they are inspired by organic elements, such as the Tasmanian bush, a tree branch, waves trailing from a boat or a mass of rocks. There are no complicated filters or scanned elements. Everything is hand drawn using one basic vector program. My aim is to create simple, meditative works that fit naturally in modern environments.

The large works are unique pieces printed on artist canvas using archival acid-free pigment based inks of the highest quality and then sprayed with a long-lasting UV protective coating. Each canvas is titled, signed and dated on the back by the artist. The works are shipped unstretched. We recommend stretching and framing be done by a local framer to avoid extra shipping costs.

Certificate of Authenticity
Each painting is shipped with a certificate, which provides the specific information about each piece, the edition size, and the date of publication. Please retain this certificate and keep it with the piece to ensure its value.
